1. Player data
Metascribe publishes tournament results, so it holds data about players who never signed up here. This section is the notice that Article 14 of the GDPR requires.
- What
- The name you play under, the country and team listed for you, your results (events, factions, placings, games, opponents and dates) and the statistics we calculate from them, such as your rating.
- Source
- Results that tournament organisers and pairing platforms have already made public, mainly Best Coast Pairings.
- Purpose and legal basis
- To record and analyse competitive Warhammer 40,000. The legal basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is already public, it only covers competitive results, and it has no legal effect on you.
- How long
- For as long as it is useful as a historical record, or until you object or ask us to delete it.
- Shared with
- Nobody. It is published on this site. We don't sell it or pass it on.
2. Visitors
There are no accounts, ads or cookies. We count visits with Umami, an analytics service that doesn't use cookies or store anything in your browser. It records the page you visit, the page you came from, your browser, your type of device and your country. Your IP address is only used to tell visits apart and to find your country; it is not stored, and Umami doesn't identify you. We use this to know how the site is used, which is a legitimate interest. Umami stores this data in the EU.
Our host, Hostinger, keeps standard server logs (IP address, time, page and browser) to run and protect the site, for its usual retention period. Its server is in France. The Map and Tournaments pages load map images from the OpenStreetMap Foundation, so it receives your IP address. It is based in the United Kingdom, which the EU recognises as offering adequate protection.
The only form is the one on player, team and tournament pages for asking us to update them. If you use it, we keep what you send (your email address, the links, any photo and your message) to review your request and, if we approve it, to update that page. Approved photos and links are then published on the page; your email address never is, and we only use it to reply to you about your request. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form and can withdraw at any time by writing to us. We keep each request for as long as we need it to handle it and to know where a page’s photo or links came from, and delete it if you ask. Photos we don’t approve are deleted. To stop the form being abused, we also count how many requests come from each IP address for up to an hour.
3. Your rights
Write to hello@metascribe.gg if you want to see, correct or delete your data, limit how we use it, object to it, or get a copy where that applies. You can also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
4. Trademarks and sources
Metascribe is an unofficial fan site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by Games Workshop Limited. Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000, 40K, Games Workshop, faction and unit names, and all related names, logos, images and quotes are ® or ™, and/or © Games Workshop Limited, registered in various countries. They belong to Games Workshop. We use them only to talk about the game our statistics cover, without profit, and without questioning their status.
Tournament results come from Best Coast Pairings and the organisers who publish their events there. Thanks to both for making them public. Metascribe is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Best Coast Pairings; we name it only to credit the source. We collect and process the results ourselves, so they may contain errors. If something here differs from the original event page, the event page is right. Everything on this site is for information only, as is.
If you represent Games Workshop, Best Coast Pairings or a tournament organiser and have a concern about anything here, write to hello@metascribe.gg and we will deal with it quickly.
